Don’t Forget Your Pets When Prepping For An Emergency

As fires and storms begin to ramp up around the country, it’s time to start thinking about emergency kits.

You know the drill: non-perishable food, dry clothes, medication, a bit of spare cash, a torch… and all those other essentials you might need if you have to leave home quickly.

Have we forgotten anything?

Oops! Where is the cat or dog food on that list? 🐶🐱

And what about the pet carrier, their favourite toys or blanket, bowls, water and any medication they may be taking?

Our pets rely on us to be prepared for them, especially when things don’t go according to plan. And if you have birds or other pets, they need to be included in your emergency plans too. 🐦🐰

Preparing for the unpredictable is important, so when you’re putting together or checking your emergency kit, please don’t forget your furry, feathered or four-legged friends. ❤️

A few things worth having ready:
🐾 Food and water
🐾 Bowls
🐾 Pet carrier or secure crate
🐾 Lead, harness or collar
🐾 Medications
🐾 Waste bags/litter
🐾 A familiar blanket or toy
🐾 Important contact details and veterinary information
🐾 Recent photo of your pet, just in case you become separated

A little preparation now can make a very stressful situation that little bit easier for you and your pets.

Stay safe and take care.
